5 Must Haves When Baby is Sick
As a mama to 4, we’ve had our share of sick days. They’re never fun, but I will admit I love all the extra snuggles and slowness that comes with it. But I’ve got something to share with you! Every mama needs these 5 must haves when baby is sick!

#1 Nosefrida Snot Sucker
Trust me, I wasn’t sure about this thing at first either. But after using it the first time I knew it was a keeper! It helps clear out baby’s nasal passages (& if you’ve ever tried nursing a snotty baby….well you know). It comes apart so it can be cleaned easily & it’s easy to use. You can use this with a little saline rinse too. My favorite time to use this is right before nap or bed when baby is snotty. I will use the saline spray up their nose, change their diaper, and then use the nosefrida to clear it all out. Nurse, rock, cuddle, and ready for sleep.
#2 Maty’s Baby Chest Rub
This is made with all natural ingredients (Sunflower Oil, Coconut Oil, Candelilla Wax, Castor Oil, Shea Butter, Vitamin E, Essential Oils Of Chamomile, Dill Weed, Lavender, Eucalyptus, Patchouli And Coriander). So you don’t have to worry about what you’re putting on baby’s skin. Best of all it’s safe for babies 3 months and up. Most chest rubs contain ingredients only safe for older toddlers. Bonus, it smells amazing!
#3 Nosefrida Humidifier
This cool mist humidifier has been my favorite of all the ones I’ve purchased over the years. It’s not bulky, it was budget friendly, it has nightlights that can change colors, adjustable mist, and can be used with essential oils! Growing up we always used a cool mist humidifier to get some moisture in the air when we felt like we couldn’t breathe and it’s still a comfort to have an adult and use with my babies.
#4 Kindercarry or Ergo
If you have bigger babies you know your arm feels like it’s going to fall off & when you’re a mama of multiple kids well ya still have to do all the things. I could not survive motherhood without baby wearing, especially when the baby is sick. I’ve tried numerous baby carriers over the years and the Kindercarry is by far my favorite. It has lots of easy to use adjustments so you and baby are comfortable. The shoulder straps aren’t thick and bulky like some carriers. It can be worn front or back. It has an attached hood that can be tucked inside of a pocket when not in use. And of course, they come in tons of adorable patterns. I also have an ergo that I keep as a backup. It’s my next favorite! We even bought an ergo babydoll carry for the kids to use for Christmas one year!
#5 Vitamin C & Elderberry Syrup
If baby is old enough I always give vitamin c and elderberry syrup! You can read more about the vitamin c and elderberry syrup we use here and here.
