This winter song goes along with the tune of Five Little Ducks. This has always been a favorite tune of mine because it is easy for preschoolers to remember this fun song and can be adapted in so many ways. And a fun way to practice backward counting!

Supplies for Puppets
- Instant Digital Download
- White cardstock or white standard-size computer paper
- Pair of scissors
- Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
- Any additional craft supplies your child may want to use to decorate their snowmen
- Glue stick, tape, or hot glue gun
- Craft sticks/popsicle sticks or magnets
- Cookie sheet (optional if using magnets)
How To Assemble
- Print out the free download.
- If using the black and white option, have child color and decorate their snowmen and sun.
- Cut out snowmen and sun.
- Using glue or tape, attach a craft stick or magnet to the back of each snowman and sun. Don’t forget you can let the kids help cut out and assemble these puppets! It’s a great way to use those fine motor skills!
How to Use
After assembling your set of 5 little snowmen and sun it’s time for the fun! Gather your child, children, or classroom together. If you’re using your set on craft sticks simply hold up the five snowmen with one hand and the sun with your other hand and begin the 5 little snowmen song, removing one snowman as you sing through the song. If using magnets, just attach your set of snowmen and sun to a cookie sheet or surface of your choice and again begin the song and remove one snowman each time the poem says, “One little snowman melted away” until all the snowmen have melted away.
