Lent Coloring Pages for Free

Sharing is caring!

Lent really snuck up on me this year if I’m being honest, maybe it’s all the postpartum prep I’ve been doing since I’m now 32 weeks pregnant with number 5. Either way, Lent is officially here and I had to create some Lent coloring pages and activity pages to share with you and your little ones!

It’s crucial we explain and have conversations with our children about Lent and we can do this by getting on their level in a creative way. These coloring pages are a great way to help bring the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus to life for children. The activity pages encourage them to actively participate in their Lenten journey.

This activity page is for your child to fill out and color. They can write or draw what they choose to fast from, pray for, how they will give alms, and scripture to memorize.

THIS LENT I PROMISE TO

This page includes lines for handwriting practice. It also has palm branches and a picture to color of Jesus with a boy or with a girl. Help your child discover ways they can grow during Lent by writing their own promise, like praying Hail Mary daily, memorizing a scripture or two, or just whatever the Holy Spirit leads them to.

MY LENTEN JOURNEY

Hang this page in an area that is used frequently like the refrigerator so your child can view their journey of lent daily. Each day throughout Lent they can color in one circle and follow along for the 40 days of Lent and counting down until Easter Sunday!

They can color each step of their journey. It includes Ash Wednesday and all the way up to Holy Week with Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter!

ASH WEDNESDAY

For this Ash Wednesday coloring page I included one for girls and one for boys! This is a great time to explain the meaning and reason for the ashes placed on the foreheads on Ash Wednesday.

HOSANNA

Celebrate Palm Sunday with this coloring page that includes palm branches, as well as, Hosanna, that can be colored in. The scripture at the bottom is from Mark 11:9-10. “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that is to come! Hosanna in the highest.”

GOOD FRIDAY

The Good Friday coloring page displays 3 crosses on the hill. There are 2 books that would be great to read along with this coloring page. The Three Crosses and The Thief that Stole Heaven. We love both of these books in our home.

Read the resurrection story while your child colors and decorates this coloring page. This is the good news we get to celebrate with our children.
